Welcome to Charlton-on-Otmoor School Council
At Charlton-on-Otmoor School our children play an important role in issues that affect the children themselves. We value the opinions and suggestions the children make. A new council is formed each year and is made up of two representatives, a boy and a girl, from each year group. The council meets on Tuesday afternoons, minutes are taken which are shared in Class Council meetings which are held during the following week. Suggestions are collected by School Councillors for discussion at the next meeting. The council holds fundraising events for both projects at school and local charities. They take part in assemblies where they share information with the whole school. Councillors develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation.
Two year 6 councillors represent our school at Bicester Learning in Partnership (B.L.I.P. Kidz) meetings. They attend termly meetings with other schools in the partnership and are responsible for feeding back these meetings to the School Council and leading projects B.L.I.P. Kidz undertake.
